I always marveled at the Asian peoples that tolerated the discrimination directed towards them in the past and still gave so much to this Nation. Japanese American soldiers in the armed services fighting for American principles they know to be sacred are recalled for their heroism on a ridge dubbed "suicide hill" and a rescue of the 141st Infantry Regiment of Texas who were cut off for a week in the areas overlooking La Houssiere in the Vosges mountains. The 442 Regimental Combat Forces devoted themselves to rescuing fellow Americans.
